SENIOR MANAGER QUALITY & DIGITAL ASSURANCE

JOB PURPOSE 

The Senior manager Quality & Digital Assurance is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance process within the software development lifecycle, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will lead the QA team in implementing testing strategies, developing quality metrics and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver defect free products in a timely manner, leveraging automation wherever possible. The most critical responsibility is to ensure that software releases are thoroughly tested and meet all quality requirements before deployment, while ensuring a cohesiveness between resources from all lines of business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Design and implement comprehensive QA processes to include test plans, test cases and test scripts to ensure thorough testing of all products with a strong emphasis on automation 
  • Manage and mentor a team of QA Engineers, providing guidance, training and performance evaluations to enhance their skills and effectiveness 
  • Oversee the identification, tracking and resolution of defects, ensuring timely communication and collaboration with development teams to address issues 
  • Establish and monitor quality metrics, providing regular reports to senior management on product quality and testing progress 
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement. Identify and implement best practices and tools for quality assurance and testing with a focus on automation 
  • Identify potential risks in the software development lifecycle and work with teams to mitigate these risks through effective testing strategies 
  • Collaborate with Software Developers to understand product requirements, provide feedback on design and ensure seamless integration of QA processes 
  • Communicate regularly with project managers, product owners and other stakeholders to provide updates on testing progress, quality issues, and release readiness 
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and third-party testing service providers, ensuring their work aligns with internal quality standards 
  • Coordinate and support UAT activities, working with end-users and clients to validate that the software meets their needs and expectations  

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in QA or related disciplines are a plus 
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in QA, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role 
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans for quality assurance and testing 
  • Skilled in resolving conflicts and issues within the team and with other departments 
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or similar are preferred 
  • Expertise in the software development industry, with a strong understanding of current trends and best practices in QA 
  • Proficient using various QA and testing tools and technologies, with a strong technical background in software development 
  • Expertise in using various testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JIRA, TestRail) and techniques for both manual and automated testing 
  • Expert understanding of the SDLC and how QA processes fit within it 
  • Expertise in developing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks 
  • Expertise in defect tracking systems and methodologies 
  • Expertise in performance and load testing tools and practices
